The Heritage Walk of Chowkri Modi Khana was initiated and identified by INTACH Jaipur Chapter in 2001. Since the formation of the Jaipur Virasat Foundation, the walk was being conducted by them, bringing innumerable visitors to the area, including many world renowned VIPs, providing an interpreted and guided experience with the traditional life of the walled city. The walk started at the New Gate and ended at Rajasthan School of Arts. Besides the built heritage, the walk covered two traditional crafts that have survived through continuity of family traditions and occupation – making of lac bangles and thathera craft.
