Down the valley line in the Purana Ghat area, one can see the Ghat Ki Guni complex which had a great role to play in the history of the Dhoondhar state and served as a gateway to the Dhoondhar kingdom for centuries. During the period of Raja Man Singh, Ghat Ki Guni was merely a paved cobblestone path and it is said that many structures were constructed in the area to display the grandeur of Amber State to the Mughal Emperor. With the founding of Jaipur in 1727AD, a new architectural spirit was revived that could be seen by the addition of many gardens, palaces and havelis which were added to Ghat Ki Guni. The complex
still has an impressive conglomeration of fifty-two unique properties of great architectural and historical significance. The Ghat Ki Guni complex constitutes a valuable inheritance to a vibrant town like Jaipur conveying the unique historical and cultural character of its natural and built environment and as a symbol of the culture of urban Rajasthan
