Quilting

Quilting is a craft form spread across the length and breadth of India. Jaipur’s claim to fame is the extremely lightweight quilt known as the Jaipuri Razai (Quilt). The superior quality of the cotton used for the filling of the quilt makes it a much-coveted item, locally as well as internationally. The fabric used for the outer cover can range from cotton to silk and velvet and this fabric is generally printed using the block printing process. The cotton is cleaned and filled in this hand quilted rug using interior quilted panels to keep the filling in place.
